We may have missed out on the Greatest Concert Ever but here's a chance to catch the late Michael Jackson rehearsing for his last concert, This Is It.
Releasing world wide on October 28, directed Jackson's creative partner and tour co-ordinator, Kenny Ortega, will be released for a limited two-week period. Billed as a rare, behind-the-scenes portrait of the singer, the film will chronicle the period from April to June 2009, during which Jackson was rehearsing for his proposed 50-date O2 Arena stint, due to begin in July. It's release date was jointly negotiated between promoters AEG Live and Columbia Pictures, with 80% of the profit going to Jackson's children.

Unnaipol Oruvan Trailer HIGH QUALITY

Unnaipol Oruvan (English: Someone Like You) is a forthcoming bilingual Indian film directed by Chakri Toleti, starring Kamal Haasan and Mohanlal in the lead role. Earlier titled as Thalaivan Irukiran in Tamil, the film will be made in Tamil and Telugu (as Eenadu) .Venkatesh plays the same role as Mohanlal in the Telugu version. The film, a remake of the 2008 Bollywood film, A Wednesday!, directed by Neeraj Pandey, and is to be released on September 18, 2009.

Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (sixth in this series) collected 4.7 million pounds on it's opening day, the highest ever in the history of UK.

The film could be the year's biggest money-maker, beating Megan Fox, Shia La Beouf starrer Transformers 2.


The film starring Daniel Radcliffe, Rupert Grint and Emma Watson which will released on Friday in India had the biggest ever opening in the history of UK.


Half-Blood Prince has Harry struggling to pry a critical memory loose from a new Hogwarts teacher who possesses key information in the coming showdown between the young hero and the evil Lord Voldemort.

The movie collected US$152,867,000 worldwide in 2 days.

Indian Business in Hollywood

It was one of the largest deals in global cinema in recent years, Anil Ambani's Reliance Big Entertainment (http://www.rbe.co.in/) and Hollywood filmmaker Steven Spielberg's Dream works (http://www.dreamworksstudios.com/) on Wednesday announced US$825 million funding for their Los Angeles-based production house Dreamworks Studios.

According to the sources the movies produced by Dreamworks will be distributed by Walt Disney globally, while the exclusive rights for India will be with Reliance Big Entertainment .


"There is no scaling up or scaling down of investment. We will begin with $825 million and this is the largest in recent times," said the Mumbai-based industrialist, whose aides had earlier indicated an investment outlay of as much as $1.5 billion for Dreamworks.


Spielberg said he was looking forward to films produced by Dreamworks as also to visit India soon to meet with filmmakers, scriptwriters and actors to see how they can all collaborate. "We have a golden opportunity to have a better control over our product," he added.


Some of the films that will be produced first include 39 Clues, Cowboys and Aliens, Dinner For Schmucks, Motorcade and Hereafter in a mix of genres including thrillers, action, comedy and family drama.


Ambani also announced that his associate Amitabh Jhunjhunwala and Spielberg's partner for decades Stacey Snider, who has been associated with projects like Eric Brockovich, The Mummy and American Pie, would also serve on the Dreamworks board.


The Reliance Anil Dhirubhai Ambani Group ranks among India's top three industrial houses with interests in areas including telecommunications, energy, finance, entertainment and infrastructure development.


The Anil group's entertainment business owns 428 cinema screens across India, the US, Malaysia and Mauritius, contributing 11 percent to the domesticindustry's box office collections and 35 percent from the Hindi movies screened in the US.


Its entertainment business has its presence across several platforms, including FM radio, music, sports, gaming, animation, Internet and mobile portals, direct-to-home TV, Internet TV and mobile TV.

Pasanga - A New age movie

'Pasanga'.

Children films in Kollywood are a rare occurrence. A film made for children has always remained a neglected genre in Tamil cinema.

Now director and producer, the trendsetter Sasikumar of Subramaniapuramfame and Pandiraj, the new director he is introducing through his Company Productions, have dared to venture in to this forbidden territory and make a children classic aptly titled Pasanga(Children).

It is perhaps the best ever children film produced in Tamil, on par with films like Taare Zameen Par. The saying 'Child is the father of the man' can be seen and experienced throughout the film and it touches your heartstrings sans melodrama or moral science classes.

Pasanga is a masterpiece, which Tamil cinema can be proud of, and should be compulsory viewing by all who support and love good cinema. It is a film about parents and children, about the kind of pressure we put on our kids, and it comes with a big heart and an important message. It is also about finding our true heroes.

Kamal Haasan – Made in India

Kamal Haasan, (born November 7, 1954 in Paramakudi, India) is an Indian film actor and director, considered among the leading method actors of Indian cinema Hassan is known for winning several Indian film awards, including National Film Awards and Filmfare Awards, and has the distinction of being the actor with the most number of films submitted by India in contest for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Language Film. In addition to acting and directing, he is a screenwriter, lyricist, playback singer and choreographer. His film production company, Rajkamal International, has produced several of his films.

Kamal Haasan's breakthrough into lead acting came with his role in the 1975 drama, Apoorva Raagangal, in which he played a rebellious youth in love with an older woman. He secured his first Indian National Film Award for his portrayal of a guileless school teacher who tends a child-like amnesiac in 1982's Moondram Pirai. He was particularly noted for his performance in Mani Ratnam's Godfatheresque Nayagan, which was ranked by Time magazine as one of the 100 best films of all-time.

SRK turns 43 today

Shah Rukh Khan, dubbed the King Khan celebrates his 43rd birthday today.

• SRK was born on November 2, 1965 to Muslim parents of Pathan ethnicity in New Delhi. His father, Taj Mohammed Khan was a freedom fighter from Peshawar, Pakistan. His mother Lateef Fatima was the adopted daughter of Major General Shah Nawaz Khan of the Janjua Rajput clan, who served as a General in the Indian National Army of Subash Chandra Bose.



• SRK’s father came to New Delhi from Qissa Khawani Bazaar in Peshawar before the Partition of India, while his mother’s family came from Rawalpindi. He attended St. Columba’s School where he was accomplished in sports, drama and academics. He won the Sword of Honour, an annual award bequeathed to the student who embodies most the spirit of the school. He later attended the Hansraj College (1985-1988) to earn an Honors degree in Economics.


• Though he studied for a Masters Degree in Mass Communications at Jamia Millia Islamia, he later opted out for a career in Bollywood.

• SRK moved to Mumbai in 1991. In that same year, before any of his film releases, he married Gauri, a Hindu, in a traditional Hindu wedding ceremony on October 25,1991.

1. Life is Beautiful

Life Is Beautiful (Italian: La vita è bella) is a 1997 Italian language film which tells the story of a Jewish Italian, Guido Orefice (played by Roberto Benigni, who also directed and co-wrote the film), who must learn how to use his fertile imagination to help his son survive their internment in a Nazi concentration camp.

2. Anbe Sivam

Anbe Sivam ("Love is God") is a 2003 Tamil film directed by Sundar C. and stars Kamal Haasan and R. Madhavan with music composed by Vidyasagar. The picture is about a series of comic clashes between Nalla Sivam (Kamal Haasan), a wise-cracking, handicapped communist and Anbarasu (R. Madhavan), an arrogant young advertisement filmmaker, that occur when both happen to get stuck with each other on their problem-filled trip home to Chennai from Bhubaneshwar. Themes such as globalisation, financial disparity and compassion in present day India are explored around the two protagonists.


3. Lage Raho Munna Bhai

Lage Raho Munna Bhai is a 2006 Indian comedy film directed by Rajkumar Hirani. It is the second film in the popular Munna Bhai series of Bollywood. Sanjay Dutt stars in this film as Munna Bhai, a Mumbai (Bombay) underworld don, who begins to see the spirit of Mahatma Gandhi. Through his interactions with the image of Gandhi, Munna Bhai begins to practice what he calls Gandhigiri (Satyagraha, non-violence, and truth) to help ordinary people solve their problems. Lage Raho Munna Bhai has had a strong cultural impact in India, popularising Gandhism under Munna Bhai's notion of Gandhigiri. As noted by critics, the film has "stirred the popular imagination", leading to a number of Gandhigiri protests in India and in the United States: "For generations born after Gandhi's assassination, Munnabhai, the eponymous hero of the film, has rendered “Gandhism” passé and “Gandhian” arcane. The new buzzword is “Gandhigiri”, a value, and valuable, addition to the lexicon of a culture suffused with every abominable kind of “Dadagiri” and “Goondagiri”.

4. Rang De Basanti

Rang De Basanti (2006 Indian drama film written and directed by Rakeysh Omprakash Mehra. The film begins with a British documentary filmmaker who is determined to make a film on Indian freedom fighters based on diary entries by her grandfather (a former officer of the British Army in India). She requests a group of youngsters, who are indifferent to the state of affairs in India, to act in her film. After they agree and begin filming, a dear friend's death in a aircraft crash is attributed to government's corruption. This event metamorphosizes them into passion-driven individuals who are determined to avenge his death.
The film's release faced stiff resistance from the Indian Defence Ministry and the Animal Welfare Board due to parts of the film that depicted the use of MiG-21 fighter aircraft and a banned Indian horse race respectively. The film, which released globally on January 26, 2006, was India's official entry for the Golden Globe Awards and the Academy Awards in the Best Foreign Film Category, although it was not nominated for either ceremony. However, it was nominated in the same category at the 2006 BAFTA Awards.

5. Taare Zameen Par

Taare Zameen Par tells the story of eight year old Ishaan (Darsheel Safary) who suffers greatly until a teacher (Aamir Khan) identifies him as dyslexic. Both commercially and critically acclaimed, Taare Zameen Par won the 2008 Filmfare Best Movie Award as well as a number of other Filmfare and Star Screen Awards. It was declared tax free by the Government of Delhi. The Walt Disney Company has bought the home video rights for distribution of an international edition DVD for future release in North America, the United Kingdom, and Australia. This is "the first time an international studio has bought the video rights of an Indian film."
Taare Zameen Par is India's official submission for the Academy Award for Best Foreign Film for the 81st Academy Awards.

The review concludes that "Bond has been stripped of his iconic status. He no longer represents anything particularly British, or even modern. In place of glamour, we get a spurious grit; instead of style, we get product placement; in place of fantasy, we get a redundant and silly realism."

This the much anticipated movie of the 2008, which is likely to be released in the chirstmas. Ghajni is direced by AR murugadass, who is well known in the south. AR murugadass has created superhits like Dheena, Ramanna, Ghajini (Tamil), Stalin. This film was planned to released in Diwali, but for some reasons it is postponed to Christmas this year, but the great news is Amir released the first look of Ghajini on Diwali.
